Reagent is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that works in REAPER and Wwise for you. Ask a question, have it make a change or let it run a whole multi-step job, all in plain words and without writing code.

Edit Your REAPER Project

Ask about tracks, items, markers and plugins. Split, trim, move, copy or replace items across the project.

Write ReaScripts

If no built-in tool fits, Reagent writes and runs a ReaScript. You can also review it first or save it as a REAPER action.

Analyze and Classify Audio

Find silence and transients, measure loudness, and sort sounds into Universal Category System (UCS) categories, all on your computer.

Edit Dialogue


Level voice volume on every plan. On individual plans, also transcribe dialogue, pick the best takes and clean up podcasts or narration.

Work in Wwise

Ask about your Wwise project, track down problems, create and edit objects and adjust levels, even while your game is running and connected.

Organize Files

Find, read, move, copy, rename and organize files on your computer, with approval controls you choose.

Build Variations

Turn one sound into many. Reagent copies your items and randomizes their pitch, volume and more.

Reuse Your Workflows

Save prompts you use often as slash commands in Settings > Commands, then type / and the name to run one.

How Reagent Works

  • The Reagent app is where you chat. You sign in with your Reagent account through your web browser.
  • The Bridge is a small script that runs inside REAPER and carries out Reagent’s commands. It talks to the app through files on your computer, not over the network. You load it once per computer and run it each time you open REAPER, or set it to start automatically.
  • An AI model reads your request, decides which steps to take and explains the results.
  • Wwise Authoring 2021.1 or later connects when it’s open on the same computer with WAAPI (the Wwise Authoring API) turned on. See Wwise.

Where Your Data Goes

Reagent edits your REAPER and Wwise projects, works with your files and analyzes audio on your computer. What it finds becomes part of the conversation with the AI model.
  • Individual plans: the conversation goes through Reagent’s AI service. A few features send more to Reagent’s servers and the services they use: for example, dialogue transcription uploads the audio so ElevenLabs can transcribe it, and REAPER and Wwise documentation lookups send your search text. The app also sends usage analytics to PostHog, an analytics service.
  • Enterprise accounts: the conversation goes to your organization’s own AI model endpoint. Dialogue transcription, documentation lookups and similar features that go through Reagent’s servers are turned off, and the app doesn’t send usage analytics.

Stay in Control

Reagent changes your real projects and files, so you choose how much it may do without asking. Click the mode name at the bottom left of the message box to switch. It starts as Default permissions and keeps your choice until you change it. Permissions covers the modes and undoing changes. For Wwise, see Undoing Changes in Wwise.
Back up your REAPER project before you use Reagent on it, especially before large batch changes. File changes on disk, such as renders and moved, copied or renamed files, aren’t part of REAPER’s undo.

Get Started

You need:
  • A Mac or a Windows PC. On a Mac, UCS classification needs Apple silicon and macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. See System Requirements for supported versions and other limits.
  • REAPER 7.0 or later with the free SWS extension, an add-on Reagent needs to work with your items.
  • A Reagent account and an internet connection.
  • Enterprise accounts also need an endpoint URL, API key and model ID from your IT team, and network access to that endpoint. See Custom Endpoint and Single Sign-On.
